Ghost mountain bikes: German passion and perfection
Two German mountain bike enthusiasts, Klaus Möhwald and Uwe Kalliwoda, started a company called GHOST in 1993. It all started in their garage where they cobbled together their first mountain bike.
Today their company has international allure and has become one of the largest bicycle manufacturers in Germany. More than 70% of production is still in Waldsassen, a small town in Bavaria and the place where it all began.
Today they operate throughout Europe, and internationally from Russia to the US. We find a wide range of mountain bikes, e-bikes, gravel bikes, trekking bikes, and children's bikes, a Gravity and XC World Cup team and all with a very cool name.
We at Bike&Trail chose to become a Ghost dealer because they are an established company and currently one of the most progressive and modern brands on the market.
Proof of this is the collaboration between GHOST and REIN4CED, a Belgian highly innovative company based in Herent. Rein4ced developed and patented, in collaboration with the University of Leuven, a totally new impact-resistant composite material and uses this to produce bicycle frames in Belgium for Ghost, among others.
